Lost director signs on to Game of Thrones

The director of Lost has signed on for the next season of Game of Thrones.

A director from cult TV series Lost has signed up for two episodes on the next season of Game of Thrones.

Jack Bender is one of five new directors who will be responsible for season six of the hit TV show, according to Variety.

Author George RR Martin has yet to release his next book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, on which the show is based, so it's safe to say fans don't know what's going to happen on the show's return.

Bender's appointment could really stir things up considering the fan frenzy that surrounded Lost when it began over ten years ago.

For a long time, viewers wondered if the island the show's plane crash survivors lived on was a metaphor for purgatory.

The show's creators debunked that theory last year and said the cast were definitely on an island, but revealed the final scene where they all end up in a church was supposed to represent heaven.

With Bender at the helm, don't be surprised if Daenerys' dragon-flight landing among the Dothraki is just some strange metaphor when she is, in fact, really dead.

Or perhaps it means, now that John Snow has been killed, the next season will focus on his time in limbo.

The director will begin filming scenes for the next season in about two weeks in Belfast and while the plot hasn't been revealed, we can at least count on them being epic.

"You have to commit to four-and-a-half to six months because of the enormity of the episodes," Bender told BGR.com.
