Lorde isn't just recording a new single for the next Hunger Games film, she's choosing the movie's entire soundtrack.
The New Zealand pop star is to hand-pick the artists for the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 as well as delivering the lead single for the album.
The announcement that she is curating the soundtrack came accompanied by a tweet from the singer than she and producer Joel Little had already written the single.
"Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance," said the 17-year-old singer-songwriter in a statement.
"The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people."
