Lorde has yet another reason to celebrate today with Stereogum giving her second album the highest accolade possible.
The music website put Melodrama at the top of its list of the 50 best albums of the year, calling it "pure pop alchemy ... a carefully-crafted collection of songs that speaks to a very particular, universal trauma: the first heartbreak".
"At 19 a freshly-dumped Lorde threw herself into humid nights, searching for the adult she hoped to become. She emerged an auteur with a refined point of view and an album that is distinctly her own," the publication wrote.
Lorde beat Kendrick Lamar's DAMN at No. 2, as well as albums by SZA, The War on Drugs and LCD Soundsystem.
