She's conquered the pop charts and now the celebrated writer in the dark has been given the green light to appear at the upcoming Auckland Writers Festival.
Lorde will host a session with the acclaimed Canadian essayist Durga Chew-Bose, author of Too Much and Not the Mood, a collection of personal essays, which was hailed by culture website Bustle as "one of the most anticipated feminist releases of the year".
Chew-Bose is an exciting new writer whose lyrical prose has earned her the reputation as a "gifted, insightful essayist and critic," and seen her work published in The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Interview and Buzzfeed amongst others.
The essays in her book describe, "the complications of growing up and establishing oneself," and "what it means to be a brown girl in a white world".
Lorde, who is listed under Ella Yelich-O'Connor in the festival programme rather than her stage name, will be discussing art, literature, pop culture and identity during their hour long talk.
