Lorde says leaked song is 'not good'

Lorde has given fans a taster from her archives, sharing a snippet from a song she describes as "not good".

Posting on her Tumblr page, Lorde said the 30-second sample was from a song called Lost Boys and was recorded in March, 2013.

"I found this little guy whilst trawling through my archives and thought it would be a cute thing to share," the Royals hitmaker wrote.

"We wrote this song called Lost Boys in about March of last year. We spent a day on it and then never touched it again."

Lorde apologised for the song's quality, and despite demand from fans to hear the whole thing, she said "it was not a good song, I promise".

"A lot of people asked what happened to Lost Boys, and I guess you'll never hear the other three-quarters of the song, but there was something about these bridge melodies I thought was pretty.

"So here you go - a little pre-Christmas look at the cutting room floor."
