Kiwi singing sensation Lorde features in the latest drop of leaked Sony emails with a company boss comparing her favourably to a "lame" Lady Gaga.
In an email written a month before Lorde won two Grammy Awards in January 2014, the company's head of motion pictures Doug Belgrad said Lorde would be a "cool" choice to perform the Spiderman soundtrack.
In the hacked email, with the subject line "Lorde is cool", Mr Belgrad told vice president Amy Pascal the rising star should be considered to sing vocals for the blockbuster movie sequel.
Sony executives had just learned Rihanna was not interested in the role and were looking for a replacement.
Another artist Mr Belgrad considered was English songstress Ellie Goulding. But Mr Belgrad was uncertain about her fan base.
