Kiwi female musicians dominated UK television on Tuesday night (UK time), with Lorde and Aldous Harding both performing on Later... With Jools Holland.
The episode marked the first all-female line up on Later... after 25 years and 50 seasons, while the performances of Lorde and Harding mark the first time two New Zealand acts have performed on a major late night television program independently to each other.
Lorde was on first and gave a pitch-perfect rendition of her comeback hit Green Light, the first single from her upcoming record Melodrama. She is performing at a number of UK festivals this year, including BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend this weekend and Glastonbury in June, as she tours the new album.
Harding gave an intense, engrossing performance of Horizon, which is off her newest album, the critically acclaimed Party. Harding is in the midst of an extensive international tour which sees her performing abroad right through to November.
