Perth singer Sivan is just 19-years-old but has been making waves since he released his track The Fault In our Stars which sold over 100,000 copies last year and got him signed to record label EMI.
Sivan recently released his debut EP TRXYE, and his first single off the record made it to No.10 on the ARIA singles charts.
But Sivan has proved himself to be an internet sensation: the YouTube views for Happy Little Pill have already exceeded 5 million and Sivan has almost 3 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.
Simpson, 17, has been working on an album with Justin Bieber in LA and is currently in Australia to perform at Nickelodeon's Slimefest concerts in Sydney and Melbourne this week.
This Aussie attack on the Billboard list is a further example of what one US publication coined the "A-Pop wave".
News outlet USA Today reported last month on the A-pop phenomenon - an Australian version of the K-pop term that described the Korean pop music onslaught which included Psy's 2012 hit, Gangnam Style.
Sivan, 5 SOS and Cody Simpson were all named as leaders of this A-pop revolution that is "rising from down under" according to USA today.
The article used the acts' staggering YouTube numbers to back up the idea that pop's latest stars are all Aussie exports.
It seems the US is intent on picking up on the Aussie musical talents, if Billboard's list of young superstars is anything to go by.
