CONTROVERSIAL video blogger Logan Paul has finally returned to YouTube.
But if you were expecting the 22-year-old social media giant to show any signs of remorse, you're in for a disappointment.
Over the 12-minute vlog, Paul laughs off his critics and brags about his increased following in the aftermath of a fierce backlash against him last month, sparked after he appeared to show the dead body of a suicide victim in Japan.
Paul posted an apology after the incident, but the damage was done, and until now the YouTuber had stayed relatively quiet on social media.
The new video opens with Paul washed up on a beach, shirtless and donning a fake beard.
"The maverick Logan Paul, showing his face for the first time after the disgraced YouTuber has been spotted across the country — hiding his face from paparazzi and seen swallowing his tears on social media like a little baby," a narrator says in the background, as he awakens.
Paul stands up and fires back at the offscreen narrator, crediting the outrage for sending his profile skyrocketing.
"Yo, hold up — disgrace? What you mean disgrace, boy? I took a break!" he yells. "Besides, I'm still lit as f**k. What other YouTuber can take a three-week break and still get a million subscribers?"
The narrator describes the new video as an "epic comeback", saying "the era of boring Youtube content is over" and "the lit-ness level will rise once again".
In the next scene, Paul decides to make some "clarifications" about what's happened to him over the past few months.
He explains he's facing a $4 million lawsuit, has pledged to donate one million dollars to suicide prevention organisations, and throws in frequent plugs for his merchandise.
"As you guys know, YouTube cut my ad sense in half — thanks, YouTube, love ya — so I am going to need you guys to buy my merch, Maverick Merch, so I don't lose my house."
And, of course, he addresses his critics.
"The haters are stronger than ever!" he cries mockingly. "No matter how much hate or comments from random strangers I've never even seen or heard of in my life — 'Logan, you're trash, you're garbage, rot in hell, die, hang yourself' — it's noise to me.
"I will never, ever forget who I am at my core and no one can make me think I'm something otherwise. And as long as I'm learning and improving and getting better as a person, then we good."
Paul says he'll inevitably cop criticism no matter what from this point on. Judging by the reaction to his latest video, he's not wrong there.
Logan Paul’s come back video is the most disrespectful thing I’ve ever seen.
Opening sequence shows how absolutely NOT genuine he was about the apology or the break.
Along with then proceeding to blame YouTube for cutting his money for HIS mistakes.
Logan Paul: "I understand the mistakes I've made, I'll improve as a person over time" Also Logan Paul: "AYOO I'M BACK ACTUALLY GAINED SUBSCRIBERS FROM BEING AWAY LUL also YOUTUBE cut my ad revenue IN HALF (totally not my fault) SO BUY MY MERCH BUYMYMERCHBUYMYMERCHBUYMYMERCHBUY-"
He's additionally copped criticism for making a joke about the "Tide Pod challenge", an online trend that involved drinking laundry detergent.
Yeah you wanna send a message about suicide but here you are making fun of a serious situation (again) in kids ingesting tide pods and actually getting harmed. Wow you’re on a roll this year.
