New Zealand music website Amplifier.co.nz will shut down after 16 years, it has been confirmed.
The site was first founded in 1999 and worked with more than 3000 New Zealand music artist, independent musicians and labels to create one of the southern hemisphere's first online music stores.
Songs by Kiwi artists like Scribe, P-Money, Fat Freddy's Drop, Steriogram and The Datsuns were all available on the website and helped grow the site.
Amplifier's partner company DRM NZ has widened its scope to concentrate on working with streaming services such as Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play and Amazon.
Music fans will still be able to purchase music from Amplifier.co.nz until December 31, 2015, but as of 2016 the site will cease all sales.
