Loading Docs presents: Today

"Life in the home."

Today follows the passing of time for residents and workers of a South Auckland rest home and offers an intimate and evocative insight into a place many New Zealanders call 'home'.

Director bio:
Prisca Bouchet

Born in France and now living in New Zealand, Prisca's work as an editor includes the 2010 feature documentary There Once Was An Island for which she received the New Zealand Qantas Media Award for Best Documentary Editing. More recently, she has edited feature documentaries Mental Notes, which deals with the troubled history of New Zealand's mental health institutions, and Pretty Brutal which looks into the world of roller derby in New Zealand (Best Editing and Best NZ Documentary at DocEdge 2013).

Nick Mayow

Born in New Zealand, Nick is a professional video editor and director and has worked on a variety of New Zealand programmes including the highly respected local current affairs show The Nation, as well as general programming and independent documentaries. Fog, a short dramatic film that Nick wrote, was selected for the Cannes Film Festival in 2008.

As a filmmaking duo, Prisca and Nick's first short documentary Le Taxidermiste was selected for the New Zealand International Film Festival 2013, going on to win Best Self-Funded Short at the Rialto Channel New Zealand Film Awards.

"For us as filmmakers, being selected for Loading Docs gives us an opportunity to produce fantastic content, at the same time learning about and participating in the bold, dynamic world of online storytelling."
