LONDON - Matt Lucas, star of the television comedy series Little Britain, tied the knot with his partner, TV producer Kevin McGee, in a civil ceremony today.
Lucas, 32, and 30-year-old McGee emerged holding hands from a private club in central London after the ceremony and posed for
pictures.
His Little Britain co-star David Walliams, television presenter Dale Winton and comic Rob Brydon were among the celebrity guests at the ceremony, which was followed by a pantomime-themed reception.
Britain introduced civil partnerships for same-sex couples late last year but, unlike in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Canada, they do not have the status of marriages.
Last year singer Elton John and his partner David Furnish made use of the new legislation.
