Three long years after her last album of original material, Lady Gaga has today debuted her much-anticipated 'comeback' single, Perfect Illusion.
Co-produced and co-written with Uptown Funk hitmaker Mark Ronson, BloodPop and Australia's own Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker, the track is a storming pop-rock affair, with slightly less of the electro-pop sheen we've come to expect from her earlier work. Think Killers meets Kylie.
Perfect Illusion made its debut on radio stations around the world this afternoon but, despite Gaga tweeting that it would be available worldwide as soon as it premiered on radio, it's yet to show up on Aussie iTunes. Don't worry - we've got you covered:
It's three years since Gaga released her ARTPOP album, but she's been busy in the interim: She released an album of duets with Tony Bennett, filmed a Golden Globe Award-winning stint on American Horror Story: Hotel, and last year released the stirring Til It Happens To You, which appeared on the soundtrack to the documentary The Hunting Ground for which she was nominated for an Oscar.
