KEY POINTS:
When it comes to getting the news across, Lisa Lewis reckons she'll be out in front.
The leggy blonde, who made the headlines two years ago after a bikini-clad streak during an All Blacks test, will soon be reading them as New Zealand's first naked newsreader. Lewis will be delivering 10pm bulletins in the buff from the waist up from Monday to Friday on independent music channel Alt TV.
The 27-year-old Hamiltonian was keeping an uncharacteristically low profile yesterday but told a daily newspaper on Friday "that girl on [TV3's] Nightline at the same time is going to suffer".
Lewis may need to sharpen up on her current affairs knowledge - Nightline, hosted by Samantha Hayes, screens 30 minutes later - but she's no stranger to news. She earned her first 15 minutes of fame for the semi-streak, and the sale of her bikini on the internet.
Last year she addressed a Parliamentary select committee over plans to introduce legislation that could see streakers jailed for three months and fined $5000.
She also appeared in the infamous Boobs on Bike parade.
Naked News starts on May 12.
