Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington has died on what would have been Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday.
Two months after the Soundgarden frontman took his own life, Bennington's death on July 20 (US time) is being investigated as a possible suicide.
According to Rolling Stone, the two rockers were close friends,
touring together in 2007 and 2008. Bennington was reportedly a godfather to one of Cornell's three children.
Following the news of Bennington's death, Cornell's widow tweeted a message of support for Bennington's wife Talinda Ann Bentley.
