Lindsay Lohan's rep denies eating disorder claims

's representative has rubbished reports that the star is battling an eating disorder, after snaps of the actress looking shockingly thin circulated over the internet this week.

Lohan sparked health fears after she was

snapped on a shopping trip

wearing a skin-tight vest which showed off her slimmed-down figure, prompting speculation that she is struggling with an eating disorder.

The star's weight loss has been the subject of media speculation before. In a

2005 interview

with U.S. magazine

Lohan admitted that her then shrinking waistline was due to bulimia.

"I was sick," she told the magazine. "Everyone was scared. And I was scared too. I had people sit me down and say, 'You're going to die if you don't take care of yourself.'"

But she later denied she had an eating disorder, disputing that the magazine used her quotes out of context - despite the fact that the magazine had tapes to back up its story.

magazine in 2006, "Sometimes being that thin doesn't look healthy. I kind of didn't realise that."

"It was an attention thing, too. [But] you start to wonder if your friends are your friends because you look a certain way."

Fast forward to 2009. Now the actress' diminishing figure is being blamed on "stress", according to her mouthpiece.

Lindsay is aware that she's lost some weight due to stress

," the spokesperson tells the New York Post's Page Six, "

but we recently did a photo shoot and she ate two full meals

."

Call us cynical, but there's something slightly odd about her rep's statement. Pointing out that she ate "two full meals" makes it sound as though there's already a focus on how much she's eating. For Lohan's sake, we hope it's not an eating disorder - decidely not something to scoff at.

Meanwhile, Lohan's father,

, has lashed out at his daughter's gal pal,

Samantha Ronson

- claiming that she's "destroying" Lohan's life".

In a new blog posting, Michael is asking for LiLo's friends and family to help "save" her:

"After seeing promise and thanking God for Lindsay's freedom from SaMANtha's bondage, I see now, that since SaMANtha has once again, weaseled her way back into Lindsay's life, things have taken a dark turn.

"When a mother or father sees their child in turmoil (losing weight, not working, and purportedly cutting herself) are we supposed to stand by, remain silent and pretend it isn't happening? Or are we suppose to step to the plate and not care what people think, and do something about it?

He then goes on to plead with those close to Lohan to help her:

"I am asking everyone out their (sic) to intervene in every way possible to help Lindsay, and quite possibly, save her life. Help this wonderful, good hearted and gifted young lady to see what SaMANtha is doing to her and how she is destroying her life.

"Help her to see that ever since SaMANtha came into her life, nothing good has come of it. As a matter of fact, Lindsay hasn't used her gifts like she did before meeting SaMANtha. Just LOOK! The proof is there! These aren't just words, but FACTS! PLEASE HELP!"
