Lindsay Lohan claims she thought Egor Tarabasov would throw acid in her face.
The 30-year-old actress split from her 23-year-old fiancé earlier this year after a series of furious rows and now Lindsay has made the extraordinary claim that she believed she was in danger from him.
In an interview with Russian television's Channel One, Lindsay said: "I went to bed and he broke into my house. He started strangling me.'
"My relationship with Lindsay came to an end in July 2016. In the weeks that followed, there were numerous attempts to discredit my name by inaccurately portraying the nature of our relationship, publishing distorted facts, and making false accusations.
"I decided not to address those harmful and false statements at that time. As an international businessman, I aim to maintain a low profile and concentrate on developing my business. I also chose to keep my silence out of respect for Lindsay.
"Today, I would like to state that all accusations made, and about to be made, by Lindsay against me are not true.
"I refuse to be dragged into the media storm created in the aftermath of our breakup. I will not be making any more statements with regards to my former relationship with Lindsay, but I will use all possible legal means to protect my name and reputation."
Meanwhile, Lindsay has reportedly moved on with Dennis Papageorgiou, a restaurant and bar owner, who she claims "saved her" from her ex when he stepped in to break up a fight between them.
A source said: "Lindsay initially met Dennis at her 30th birthday party on Mykonos, but she only had eyes for Egor at that point.
"But Egor showed his true colours in a series of blazing rows, and Dennis did too with how he stepped in to help. Lindsay says they are very serious and she's been referring to him as the man who saved her from Egor."
