Lindsay Lohan engagement 'holds no merit'

A representative for Lindsay Lohan has shot down "untrue" reports of the actress' engagement to her Russian boyfriend.

Speculation about the Mean Girls star's wedding plans surfaced on Tuesday, when multiple reports suggested Egor Tarabasov, 22, had proposed to Lindsay over the weekend, and the actress, 29, said yes.

However, Lohan's spokesperson, Hunter Frederick, tells People magazine she is not preparing to tie the knot, declaring in a statement: "The story is untrue and holds no merit."

An engagement would've marked a whirlwind romance for the couple - the two started dating in 2015 and just last month, Lohan revealed she has moved into her beau's London home.

Lohan has shared few details on her romance with Egor, but recently gushed about him in an interview with Britain's The Sun newspaper.

She revealed: "I haven't known Egor for that long. We've been together for about seven months. He is a great guy. I met him in the summer. I'm really happy."

The two were reportedly introduced through a mutual friend in London, where she has been residing since starring in West End play Speed-the-Plow in 2014.

Before moving across the pond from the United States, Lohan found herself riddled with legal trouble, as she had been on probation for years in relation to various violations.

But since arriving in London, she's managed to keep herself out of trouble.

"That's the one thing in America they always have done with me," she explained. "If I have ever been linked to someone, they always say, 'This guy is so good for Lindsay. Look at how he has changed her'. I am just like, 'F*** you,' because I have done this for me. I take care of myself and then they just set it up to fail.

"The smartest thing I have done for myself is making the move to London I came to London by myself. Being here is such a big deal. I didn't have anyone here at first."
