According to a prosecution file that has recently surfaced, Payne also sent text messages offering an escort $5000 to come to his hotel, reports the Daily Mail.
The chief receptionist at the CasaSur Palermo hotel, Esteban Grassi, is being investigated amid claims Payne called the reception to “insistently” ask for alcohol and cocaine.
Text messages from a Florida phone number published by Argentinian journalist Mauro Szeta include a link to Payne’s Instagram profile. One message, allegedly sent by Payne to an escort, reads, “I have all day ... I’d gift you $5000 ... US dollars. You come to my hotel, we party, just me and u.”
As a second woman appeared on the escort’s WhatsApp background, the texter then asked, “Who’s your friend, do you want to bring her?”
She responded, “Let’s go Noe [sic] until 7pm. 5000 USD both, it’s the whole day the two of us together.”
Grassi claims Payne asked him to arrange a taxi to pick up two women, who arrived at the hotel shortly afterward. Payne allegedly then ordered four bottles of whisky, a bottle of champagne, and cash.
Grassi passed on the order to Nores, who allegedly acted as Payne’s manager in Argentina and looked after his money. He claims Nores responded, “Thank you very much Esteban.”
“We [heard] him breaking everything in there again, like he was throwing things or kicking things,” Grassi claimed, adding that he then decided to call emergency services as he was “afraid of what could happen to this person because of the state he was in”.
Another staff member then told Grassi that Payne had fallen from his balcony and that “he had heard the sound of the fall”.
Grassi said he told Roger Nores what had happened. The businessman reportedly said he would let Payne’s family know, but was not heard from again.
Grassi previously claimed one of the bellboys at the hotel texted him after an incident in Payne’s hotel room.
The bellboy, who was dropping off a fruit basket, said of the singer, “He invited me to his room (which was a disaster, by the way) and asked me if I could get him cocaine. I replied ‘I apologise sir, but neither I nor any of the staff can help you with that type of service’, to which he replied that I was ‘useless’ and that I should get out of his sight.”
Nores, hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra and waiter Barian Paiz are accused of providing Payne with drugs, while Nores is also accused of abandoning the singer in a vulnerable state.
