Two of Australia's favourite actors have lit up the streets of New York while filming their new movie, with Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth snapped in an epic dance number.

Wilson, 38, and Hesmworth, 28, appeared to be lip syncing as they broke out their best moves on the final days of shooting their upcoming film Isn't It Romantic.

Wilson, standing out in a bright red dress, plays leading lady Natalie in the romantic comedy, with Hemsworth portraying one of her love interests.

The pair got up close and personal with each other during the choreographed routine, which was shot in Midtown NYC at the weekend, surrounded by backup dancers dressed in business attire.

In one part, Hemsworth can be seen rocking out on a saxophone as Wilson dramatically throws her arms in the air while gushing at her co-star.

The movie revolves around Wilson's character, a cynical woman who becomes trapped in a rom-com and tries to escape love cliches.

The film also stars Adam Devine, who plays another one of Wilson's love interests, Priyanka Chopra, and Betty Gilpin.

The Todd Strauss-Schulson directed film is scheduled to be released on Valentines Day next year by Warner Bros Pictures.

Wilson took to Instagram with the cast on their second last day of filming with a gushing post about how much fun she had making the movie.

The movie wrap follows a long few months for Wilson, who started filming the rom-com in the middle of last year while she was embroiled in a defamation case with Bauer Media.

Last week it was revealed Wilson was planning to take her defamation case to Australia's High Court, after she was ordered to pay back millions of dollars to the magazine publisher.
