Crawling inside a dead animal carcass and eating raw bison liver isn't a Bear Grylls survival tactic - it's the length Leonardo DiCaprio went to for a new role.
Method acting takes on new meaning for the actor who was willing to sleep in a dead animal carcass and eat uncooked meat during filming for his new role in The Revenant.
DiCaprio plays a 19th century frontiersman seeking revenge on a man who left him for dead, played by Tom Hardy.
In a new interview he opened up about the extreme tactics used to get in character and deliver an authentic performance.
"Whether it's going in and out of frozen rivers or sleeping in animal carcasses, or what I ate on set. [I was] enduring freezing cold and possible hypothermia constantly," DiCaprio told Yahoo.
