KEY POINTS:
Two of the first ladies of country rock tour New Zealand in the coming months.
Louisiana-born country rock star Lucinda Williams (above) plays the Wellington Town Hall on April 15 and the Auckland Town Hall on April 17 with tickets to the latter show on sale from January 30 at the-edge.co.nz.
The tour, Williams' first to New Zealand in 20 years when she played the Gluepot in Ponsonby, is in support of new album Little Honey and this year also marks the 30th anniversary since the release of her debut album, Ramblin'.
But before Williams gets here, a singer/songwriter who could just be her heir apparent, Jolie Holland, trundles back into town for a show on February 24 at Galatos.
The last time the Texan was here, in 2005, she recorded with local musical outlaw Steve Abel as well as writing some of the songs for her new album, The Living and The Dead.
Holland also plays the San Francisco Bath House in Wellington on February 23 with tickets $44.50 from undertheradar.co.nz, Real Groovy, Musiquarium, Fast & Loose and Rhythm Discs.
