The lead singer of Australian rock band The Vines will appear in a Sydney court after he was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident.
Police confirmed a 35-year-old was charged on Saturday afternoon after two officers responded to reports of domestic violence at a home in Connells Point.
Songwriter and guitarist Craig Nicholls allegedly resisted arrest, forcing officers to use capsicum spray to subdue him.
He's been granted bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday on charges including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intimidation, and resisting arrest.
Nicholls has Aspergers Syndrome, a form of autism, which has led to him fighting with fellow band members on stage in the past, abusing a Japanese audience during a performance.
