Keeping their fingers crossed for resource consent (c'mon Super City Council), the organisers of the annual Auckland Anniversary Day St Jerome's Laneway Festival have announced the details for next year's shindig on Monday January 30.
To be held (hopefully) down at Silo Park in the Wynyard Quarter, they've gone up to three stages this year to accommodate the expanded line-up of 22 acts, which should have indie music fans doing a wee dance of joy.
Highly acclaimed international chanteuses Feist, Anna Calvi and Laura Marling will bring more than a touch of elegance to the day - Feist celebrating the release of her new album Metals, Calvi proving why she was a hotly tipped finalist for this year's Mercury Prize, and Marling enchanting us with her musical folk tales.
Favourite Australian indie-pop artist Gotye, who's currently breaking all sorts of chart records with his latest album Making Mirrors is finally crossing the ditch with his 10-piece band.
Post-punk alt-rockers The Horrors will be showcasing material from their critically acclaimed album Skying (early single Still Life will undoubtedly be a highlight), and precocious young Manchester four-piece WU-LYF will hopefully bring their giant cross set and primal stage antics with them.
