Laneway is auctioning off two lifetime tickets to the Auckland music festival as a fundraising initiative for a sick musician.
The TradeMe auction kicked off this morning and is already passed the reserve, with a top bid of $505.
Any money raised by the auction is going towardsthe treatment of Grant Fell, who was recently diagnosed with a rare brain tumor.
The co-editor of Black Magazine and the former bassist-manager of the Headless Chickens, Fell played at St Jerome's Laneway Festival with the band Children's Hour in 2011.
"Grant Fell is a brilliant, kind and creative guy, well-known for his work in a number of different creative fields," the auction reads.
"Even if you don't know him, you've probably admired his work in Black Magazine, listened to his music with Headless Chickens and Children's Hour, or seen the immaculately dressed smiling man around central Auckland or at Fashion events, always with his partner Rachael Churchward at his side.
"Recently, Grant was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour. Raising money for extra treatment, alongside the intensive chemo and radiotherapy he will undergo, will ensure that he has the most effective treatment possible and the best chance of recovery. "
"All proceeds will go towards Grant for Grant, a charity designed to fund the intensive chemo and radiotherapy Fell requires."
