Lady Gaga believes the late Alexander McQueen controls her career.
The eccentric singer was a close friend of the British fashion designer and she claims he has "planned" out her work and route to success since his suicide in February 2010.
She said: "I think he planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote Born This Way. I think he's up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing."
The Poker Face hitmaker claims her theory is proven by the fact her record label altered the release date of her single Born This Way so that it came out on the anniversary of her friend's death.
She told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "When I heard that, I knew he planned the whole damn thing. I didn't even write the f***ing song. He did!"
After the widespread success of her début album The Fame in 2008, Gaga considered moving to Los Angeles, but despised the celebrity culture so much, she returned to her old home in New York where she continues to visit the same hang-outs she did before finding fame.
She said: "I had all these number-one records, and I had sold all these albums, and it was sort of this turning point: Am I going to try and embrace Hollywood and assimilate to that culture?
