Kylie Minogue spills on legal stoush with Kylie Jenner

Kylie Minogue has opened up about her legal battle with Kylie Jenner.

The 21-year-old reality TV star and makeup mogul attempted to trademark her first name in 2017, but was promptly stopped in her tracks by the Australian pop princess — a global star for the better part of three decades.

During proceedings, Minogue's lawyers successfully argued that Jenner's trademark of "Kylie" in the US would create "confusion" and damage her brand. But what raised more eyebrows was her description of Jenner as a "supporting character" on a reality TV show.

In a new interview with The Project's Lisa Wilkinson, airing during tonight's episode, Minogue described the whole situation as a "bother".

"Your team dismissed Kylie Jenner as a 'secondary reality TV personality'," Wilkinson said to the singer, in a preview of the segment.

"I know, and I was so upset when I heard that. I said, 'Who said what to Kylie?' — and what I heard back was 'lawyer speak'," Minogue replied.

"Australia was genuinely outraged when we heard she was trying to own the name 'Kylie' worldwide — so if we were outraged, I'm wondering how you felt?" the host asked her.

Minogue responded: "I just thought, 'Oh here we go, this is a bother' — I didn't want there to be any (trouble) about it, so everything was taken care of … very nicely, I have to say."

During the interview, Wilkinson reportedly probed Minogue on her exes, including former fiance Joshua Sasse, who was rumoured to have cheated.

While admitting she's dated "a few love rats", Minogue was fairly Zen about her past drama — which may be a result of currently being in love with British GQ creative director, Paul Solomons.

"I don't hold anything against (my exes) … you live and learn," she said.
