She may be 47, but Kylie Minogue still bubbles with the youthful energy that has always been her hallmark.
And now she has revealed that, despite her age, she longs to have children - and would happily put her glittering career on hold to become a mum.
The Australian pop star is dating English actor Joshua Sasse, 27 - whom she describes as the "love of my life" - and today she tells Desert Island Discs host Kirsty Young she now realises there is more to life than fame and fortune.
"I want more of out of life, I really do," says the singer.
"Who knows if family is on any one of my horizons? I don't know. But if that were to happen that would be incredible."
And in a separate interview with The Mail on Sunday's You magazine today, Kylie says that despite the 20-year age gap, she and Sasse are the perfect match.
"I can't actually put into words how happy I am... We just completely fit together. He gets me, I get him."
Kylie first shot to fame in the mid-1980s as tomboy mechanic Charlene Mitchell in the Australian soap Neighbours before embarking on a pop career, topping the charts with songs such as I Should Be So Lucky and Can't Get You Out Of My Head.
She is still one of the world's biggest female stars but insists she would have no problem winding down her hectic schedule to make room for a family.
She tells Desert Island Discs: "I don't want to get stuck on the treadmill of doing the same thing. I would like to experience other parts of life which means I have to adapt my schedule."
Her comments will fuel speculations that she is about to settle down with Sasse, who plays a dashing knight in the US television series Galavant.
The pair first met on the set of the show in August - Kylie had a guest role in the series, which is actually filmed in Bristol - and they have been inseparable since.
She says: "I have a love of my life which is just a beautiful thing. I am kind of on cloud nine most of the time because of Mr Joshua Sasse, my beau."
Kylie has previously enjoyed several high-profile romances, having dated her one-time Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan, the late INXS singer Michael Hutchence and French actor Olivier Martinez.
Fighting back tears, she says she will always be indebted to Byronesque rock star Hutchence, who encouraged her to continue her music career when many critics were questioning her talent.
And despite appearing as a judge on the BBC's The Voice, Kylie admits she is glad she achieved success through hard work rather than a desire to become an overnight celebrity through a TV talent show.
"I am glad my journey wasn't like that," she tells Ms Young.
