Australia's Network Ten has invited pop star Kylie Minogue to return to her acting roots and be a part of the 30th anniversary of Neighbours.
The soap opera turns 30 next March and producers are planning a special anniversary episode. Getting Minogue to reprise her role as Charlene Robinson is high on their priority list.
A spokeswoman said Minogue has not yet signed on to be a part of the anniversary special but the network remains hopeful that she will come around and return to the set of Neighbours, which is filmed in Melbourne.
Speculation about Minogue's return to Ramsay St was fuelled by former star Anne Charleston.
The veteran Aussie actress, who played Madge Bishop for more than a decade, mentioned recently that she thought Minogue had signed on for the 30th anniversary special.
