SYDNEY - British art and culture critics have given a museum exhibition charting the changing wardrobe of Kylie Minogue a dressing down.
Only days after the pop star announced her split with French film star boyfriend Olivier Martinez, Kylie -- The Exhibition is under attack ahead of it's opening at London's Victoria and Albert Museum this week.
Britain's The Observer newspaper reports the decision to hold the exhibition at a national institution has not proved popular with the critics.
The newspaper's architecture critic, Stephen Bayley, said he does not believe the displaying of Minogue's costumes, album covers, accessories, photographs and videos to be appropriate.
"I am conflicted about this," he told The Observer. "If they are going to put Kylie's dresses in the chamber of horrors, that is one thing, but if it is to be a mute celebration of the life of a celebrity, then it is not such a worthy thing."
The museum has defended the exhibition by saying it hoped it would attract students of fashion and stage costume design.
