Pop princess Kylie Minogue met Sydney New Year's Eve planners yesterday to put the finishing touches on plans for the big night.
As creative ambassador for the event this year, the UK-based singer developed the event's theme - "embrace" - and chose its colour scheme and soundtrack.
Minogue said she designed the "embrace" theme to mean different things to different people - but for her, it means sharing a big hug with that special someone, her boyfriend and family.
She will be honoured with a one-of-a-kind sparkling musical note firework, one of 100,000 individual pyrotechnic creations.
