Kristen Bell proposed to Dax Shepard on Twitter on Wednesday.
The Veronica Mars star, who vowed not to wed until same sex marriage was legalised in California, popped the question to the Parenthood star after the Supreme Court cleared the way for the resumption of same-sex marriage and struck down the Defence of Marriage Act (DOMA) provision denying federal benefits to married gay couples.
The 32-year-old actress shared her joy over the ruling on Twitter, and then re-proposed to her fiancé to celebrate, writing: "@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove""
Dax, 38, has yet to directly respond but suggested that he can't wait to finally walk down the aisle with his fiancee as well, writing: "DOMA is dead. Prop 8 is dead. Now let's bring my big, gay marriage to @IMKristenBell to Life!!!!"
The couple, who welcomed their daughter Lincoln into the world in March, originally got engaged in January 2010 but were waiting for marriage to be legal for all couples before they tied the knot.
