Kiwi Top Gear fans face long wait for Jeremy Clarkson farewell

Top Gear's last-ever scenes filmed with Jeremy Clarkson aired in the UK overnight - but New Zealand fans of the show will need to wait more than two weeks to see them.

The last two episodes, which were filmed before Clarkson was fired for abusing a producer, will air on TV3 as extended episodes on July 16, from 7.30pm.

They'll end the BBC show's 22nd season before new host Chris Evans takes over with two as-yet unnamed co-hosts.

In the episodes, while stuck in a muddy river Clarkson is heard lamenting: "I hate working on Top Gear."

Minutes before that Clarkson appears to wee in his tuxedo saying: "I can't imagine a urine soaked pair of trousers is going to the put the audience off because..." he explains, gesturing to his mud-covered hands and clothes.

In the challenge, the trio were tasked with racing across muddy farmlands to reach a black-tie event at Broughton Hall.

Episode one: In the first film, Jeremy, Richard and James immerse themselves in the lifestyle of the traditional classic car enthusiast. Armed with affordable classics including a Fiat 124 Spyder, a Peugeot 304 Cabriolet and an MGB GT, the trio set off on an adventure that includes brown beer, breakdowns and a hair raising classic car show.

Episode two: In the second film, Clarkson, Hammond and May try to become lifestyle leisure enthusiasts with the help of some incredibly cheap lifestyle leisure vehicles. Restricted to a maximum budget of £250, the trio buy three massive mileage SUVs and then embark on a series of action packed challenges that include battling with the Stig's "Leisure Activity Cousin" and a race with terrifying consequences for the loser.
