Auckland-based rockers The Checks have confirmed they are breaking up after three albums together.
The band didn't give a reason for their split, but in a statement thanks their fans for their support since forming in 2002 at Takapuna Grammar School on the North Shore.
"Thanks for all your love and support over the last 10 years. We couldn't have asked for more from you," the statement said.
The Checks released three albums, including 2007's debut Hunting Whales, 2009's Alice by the Moon and last year's acclaimed Deadly Summer Sway.
They also scored many high profile supporting slots on tours by AC/DC, The Killers, REM and Oasis.
