Kiwi Playmate pays tribute to Hugh Hefner: 'I am so saddened'

She made history as the first Kiwi Playboy Playmate after being crowned Miss November in 2013.

Now, Gemma Lee Farrell has taken to social media to pay tribute to the late Hugh Hefner, who has died at the age of 91, the Daily Mail reports.

The 29-year-old shared a throwback photo of herself in the iconic Playboy Bunny uniform, which she posted to her 1.1 million Instagram followers.

"Living in the moment, thinking about the future, and staying connected to the past: That's what makes me feel whole," she wrote.

"Hugh Hefner RIP... thank you for being a part of my life."

The brunette also posted a message about the late Playboy founder on her Twitter account.

"I am so saddened by the passing of @hughhefner I can't get my head around it," she tweeted.

"He was an iconic man, that was a ginormous part of my life."

Farrell has a long history with Playboy.

She first caught the attention of the magazine after winning a Playboy golf tournament in Australia.

From there, she was flown to Las Vegas, where she was quickly appointed the face of the now defunct Playboy Club.

She was then crowned Miss November after a Playboy photographer saw her popular Instagram account, where boasts more than 1.1 million followers.
