Batman fans will get an early look at Christopher Nolan's third and final film in the franchise, with a six-minute preview hitting New Zealand's biggest screen later this month.
The Dark Knight Rises isn't due out until July, but a six-minute prologe will hit the Imax screen on Auckland's Queen Street on December 15.
That makes New Zealand fans the first in the world to see it, with the prologue rolled out in North America on December 16 and in the UK on December 21.
The prologue has been shot to make the most of the giant Imax screen, a process that director Nolan called "inspiring".
"The immersive quality of the image goes beyond any other filmmaking tool available, and in revisiting Gotham, we were determined to shoot even more of the movie in this unique format," he said.
