Karl Urban has reportedly been cast to star in Amazon's new superhero drama series The Boys.
It's based on the comic book by Garth Ennis (Preacher) and Darick Robertson and written by Eric Kripke (Supernatural) and according to Deadline, is shows a world in which heroes embrace the darker side
of fame and fortune.
Urban will play Billy Butcher, the leader of a vigilante group known as "the Boys" whose aim is to take down corrupt superheroes.
Deadline describes Billy as "mysterious, brutal and with a personal but secret agenda".
Fellow Kiwi actor Antony Starr will also be in the film, as well as Jack Quaid, Usher, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell and Karen Fukuhara.
