Kiwi hip-hop dance queen Parris Goebel has released her first single 'Friday'

Parris Goebel and her squad is killing it in her new video for her debut single, Friday.

Parris Goebel has just dropped her much-anticipated first single Friday, in her first foray into music (watch the video below).

Until now, the hip-hop choreographer has been best known for her dance moves, working with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj and even choreographing New Zealand's first hip-hop dance film, Born to Dance.

More recently, Goebel scored three MTV VMA nominations for her work on the music video for Justin Bieber's Sorry, including a nomination for the top prize: video of the year.

But now she's turned her talents toward making her own music, with her first single Friday now having been released via Goebel's social media accounts.

It's clearly made for her to dance to, with a heavy bass line and strong electronic elements, and something a little bit Missy Elliott-esque in the vocals - and the video is as Parris Goebel as you can possibly get:

The single is the first track from an upcoming EP made with Kiwi producer and former rapper P-Money, as well as underground rappers Kase and J Rabon.

Goebel is currently working on a new dance project called The Parris Project which will premiere on August 12 in Las Vegas.

While details about the project have been kept largely under wraps, it's likely the event will be an album showcase, being billed as "her music, her dance".

But all Goebel has said is, "I got a surprise for everyone that comes to the show".
