Mother and daughter team Gina and Anna were the first pair eliminated from MKR
They became the first contestants to be eliminated from this season of My Kitchen Rules following an embarrassingly low score from the judges.
But there was little sympathy for mother-daughter duo Gina and Anna from viewers, who reveled in the pair's downfall.
The show's fans took to social media toexpress their joy that the overly confident contestants had become the first to be kicked off the show after a disastrous night in the kitchen.
The ultra-competitive pair had their sights set high on the night and were very vocal in expressing their unwavering confidence in their culinary prowess.
Aiming for a ladder topping score of 100, they fell dismally short after a string of mistakes set them on a disastrous downward spiral.
The situation swiftly went from bad to worse, however, and instead of picking themselves up and powering one, a last minute mistake in the kitchen saw the couple throw out their gnocchi mixture and start on home made egg pasta.
The guests were kept waiting over two hours for the promised main of rotolo of gnocchi with duck ragu with crispy sage only to be sorely disappointed.
Pete was able to see past what the ambitious menu had pledged, but found much to fault with their replacement.
"The pasta was so overcooked and it didn't feel like you had salt in the water either, it was very bland," he said.
"There was water left in the pasta when it went into the bowl as well which then diluted the ragu."
The mother-daughter duo were eliminated after a spectacular fall from grace saw them score an abominably low 40 out of 120, a whole five points lower than quirky sweethearts Annie and Lloyd.
