Kim Dotcom: I'm just like David Guetta

Kim Dotcom has compared his debut album Good Times to the work of famed DJ, David Guetta.

In an interview with NME magazine, the internet tycoon said the fact he didn't play instruments or sing on the album didn't mean he wasn't a musician.

"David Guetta doesn't do that. Benny Benassi doesn't do that. Tiesto doesn't. I'm just like that."

Describing himself as a "sound engineer", he added: "I know what people will think. They'll think I just bought some people to do my music for me, but they're totally wrong".

Dotcom also spoke about the decision to start a career in music.

"Always upbeat, always happy, always putting you in a good mood," he said of the album. "That's what I want to achieve with my music."

In his review of the album in January, the Herald's Chris Schulz said of Good Times: "Of course it's going to be bad. "How could a glamour album crafted by a German internet tycoon holed up in a Coatesville mansion actually be any good?

"The chances are low, but what really surprises is just how awful Kim Dotcom's Good Times really is."

He gave the album one star.
