Red carpet drama: Actress
Kim Cattrall
got snippy with a reporter at the New York premiere of her new flick,
Meet Monica Velour
, this week.
According to the NY Post's Page Six
, the
Sex and the City
star snapped at their reporter on the red carpet, and criticised her for not having a "respectable" job.
Now there's the sassy
Samantha Jones
we know and love.
Cattrall, who has often lamented the lack of serious roles available to her, reportedly sounded off about ageism in Hollywood.
"Ask me about being a woman," Cattrall said. "Do you know what it's like to be 54 and marginalised? It doesn't get easier as you get older."
In the independent movie, for which she gained 20 pounds, Cattrall plays a washed-up porn star who lives in a trailer park in rural Indiana. She's forced to work as a stripper to make ends meet.
But it wasn't just Hollywood's age bias that rattled Cattrall's cage. She's not a fan of gossip writers either.
When the NYP reporter asked her a question about bikini waxes (a subject her SATC alter-ego would have no qualms dissecting), Cattrall huffed: "That's a stupid question. You're a smart girl. How could you want to write that?" She then slammed the columnist for not having a "respectable job."
She continued, while doling out some career advice: "Why don't you work at - what's that news agency - Roybers?" She obviously meant news agency Reuters.
"Yeah, sorry, I've been drinking," said Cattrall when corrected.
"What about writing for a blog? Then you can write about what you want (or) care about," she added.
And things went further south when the reporter confessed she hadn't even seen Cattrall's new movie.
"You didn't see my film," she huffed. "Why are you even here?"
The actress also got snippy with another reporter at the event when asked about her on-screen kissing with co-star
Dustin Ingram
, 21.
"You know, as a woman, I really find those questions offensive. As a woman, I find that really embarrassing [for you] to ask that."
Ouch.
She has a point on the movie front. You rock up at a premiere as a reporter; you see the flick first before probing the talent. Nice icebreaker.

Britney's perfume stink
It's been a bit of a bumpy week for pop marvel
Britney Spears
.
First came the news that Spanish hottie
Enrique Iglesias
was pulling out of touring with her in June.
Spears boomed during an appearance on
Good Morning America
earlier this week: "Thank you guys for all your love and support. I love music. It's my world. It's my everything, so I'm so happy to be able to share it with everyone... We are going on tour with Enrique Iglesias in June!"
Negative.
"Unfortunately, Enrique Iglesias and Britney Spears will not be touring together," the Hero singer countered in a statement.
"Enrique has great respect for Britney and is a longtime fan of her work," the statement added. "He is very sorry for the confusion this might have caused to anyone."
The singer cited his own tour as the reason why we won't be seeing the duo in action.
And just as Brit Brit hits the comeback trail with her new album,
Femme Fatale
, along comes another unwanted distraction - a $10 million lawsuit.
, Spears and her father Jamie are being sued in a lawsuit relating to her perfume brand Radiance.
In the lawsuit the singer, who has a branding deal with Elizabeth Arden (worth a whopping $15million a year), and her father are accused of being "sneaky and underhanded" while allegedly cutting out company Brand Sense from the deal.
Brand Sense claims in the lawsuit that it was promised 35 per cent commission on any Britney Spears-branded fragrance sold by Elizabeth Arden.
"Britney secretly made a separate deal with Elizabeth Arden in a sneaky underhanded effort to circumvent and evade its obligations to Brand Sense," says the lawsuit.
"Effectively, Britney improperly and illegally cut Brand Sense out of the Elizabeth Arden deal."
Jamie reportedly baulked at the high commission on the fragrance, and said Spears refused to pay it.
Spears is being accused of "concealment and evasive actions" by Brand Sense.
But here's a silver lining: Spears has reportedly been offered $100m to perform a string of shows in Las Vegas.
, Spears has been approached by hotel and casino owners in Sin City, hot on the heels of her set at the Palms Casino Resort last week.
"Vegas moguls are holding meetings to secure Britney for a permanent show," a source tells the newspaper
"If she performed in Vegas on a regular basis, it would attract loads of fans to the city. She'd bring in so much revenue. There's no doubt she would be offered at least as much as country star
Garth Brooks
, who signed a $100million deal and has been selling out shows in Vegas since 2009.
"Britney would be an even bigger draw."
