"What people don't seem to remember is that this is our real lives and a lot of these things we are experiencing in real time. With Caitlyn it's a beautiful thing that she's transitioned and that she's strong enough to have her own voice and wanting to make such monumental, beautiful moves and be that crusader to do so," she said.
"But I think there was a hard time for the entire family that we were all transitioning with her but in front of an audience. That's not really the normal way to go about it."
The change also incited a lot of raw emotions in the family, which Kardashian said was hard to experience in front of an audience, but they got through it.
"That's completely behind us and we're just happy for her (Jenner). We just want her to be happy," she said.
"But there was definitely a moment that was really tough for all of us."
The TV star said she never really got the chance to say goodbye to Bruce because the whole truth was never fully disclosed, and they were fed different pieces of information.
Kardashian also spoke about her revealing photoshoot that ran in Complex magazine this week. The TV star said she chose to release the untouched photos from the shoot to prove to the naysayers that her physique hadn't been photoshopped and was down to hard work she put in at the gym.
"I wear baggy clothes to the gym, I'm not really showcasing all the work I've done and then when I did this shoot people were ... like 'oh her body's all photoshopped, she doesn't look like that' and I was like 'screw you guys I worked really hard for this body and just because I don't show it off every day doesn't mean I don't have it'."
Aside from making her skin look smoother and the image brighter, Kardashian said she did not look that aesthetically different in the photoshopped image.
She also gave some insights into her famous siblings' children, saying Kourtney's son Mason was the most opinionated about his fashion while his sister, Penelope, just liked really girl clothes.
As for Kim and Kanye West's daughter, North, she said her fashion tastes were "a little more simplistic".
