Singer Darren Hayes has slammed sections of the Australian media over the way a TV interview with Katy Perry was edited.
The Firework star sat down for a chat with Jackie Frank, editor of the Australian edition of Marie Claire, for the Sunday Night program, which airs on the Seven Network.
Producers decided to leave in awkward segments of the interview, including Perry demanding the questions focus on her new album Prism and suspiciously quizzing Frank about whether her sore throat was "contagious" after the journalist revealed she had laryngitis.
Now Hayes, who lives in London, has accused bosses behind the show of bullying tactics to make Perry look bad.
"I watched the interview online and I saw something that has been bothering me, as an Australian living overseas, for about 15 years," the former Savage Garden star wrote on his Tumblr page.
