Except for a lucky few, Queenstowners hoping to hear Katy Perry roar during her stay at the resort have had to make do with a social media "hi" instead.
The pop superstar, who has concerts in Auckland tonight and tomorrow as part of her Prismatic World Tour, has spent the past two days unwinding in the resort following her last concert in Brisbane on Monday.
On Wednesday night the 30-year-old and her entourage dined at Arrowtown restaurant Saffron, before visiting the adjacent Blue Door bar.

Saffron and Blue Door co-owner Melanie Hill would not comment, but a Queenstown woman told the Otago Daily Times she unwittingly had a chat with Perry and her mother at the bar. The woman said she had no idea who the singer was until afterwards.
