Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx's relationship 'set to go public'

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are ready to "go public" with their romance, a source close to the couple reveals.

The source told Us Weekly, Holmes "used to be super worried about public attention", despite being in an exclusive relationship with Foxx for years.

Holmes, 38, splits her time between NYC and LA, while Foxx, 49, is based in LA full time.

The magazine reports that plans to dodge the paparazzi have included elaborately planned meetings, that included a secret trip to Mexico for Holmes' birthday.

"They travelled in cars with tinted windows and took secret back elevators," shared the source. "They had it down to a science."

This is set to change as "Katie is tired of playing the hiding game," reports US Weekly.

The celebrity couple was recently spotted together at a restaurant in NYC.

There had been rumours that Holmes' 2012 divorce settlement from Tom Cruise included a clause that she not date anyone publicly for five years. That deadline, whether fact or fictional, will end this year.

According to Radar Online, Holmes wanted things over with Cruise so much so that she agreed to the clause to get the divorce done as soon as possible.

It is believed Holmes feared she would be unable to get daughter, Suri, out of Scientology, if she flagged her move with Cruise ahead of time.

Both of Cruise's older children, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, are devout Scientologists and have distanced themselves from their mother because she is what the religion calls a "supressive person".

"Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce," a source told Radar Online.
