"So my daughter said, 'Hey, let's go see this singer,' and I go, 'OK,'" Baldwin recalled.
"She goes, 'It's at this place.' I said, 'Oh, I've been there a few times," because (brother Alec Baldwin) hosted 'SNL' a bunch of times (in the same building)."
"So we come and all the sudden it's like, 'Yeah, you want to see his dressing room?' — before he even got here," the actor continued.
"My daughter's like, 'Dad, how are we going to see his dressing room?!'"
The Today Show has released video footage of the moment the two met, after Baldwin shook hands with the singer and then introduced his young daughter. Hailey, perhaps a little shy, perhaps trying to play it cool, shakes Bieber's hand without giving too much away while Bieber smiles sweetly and tosses his fringe in what may or may not have been an attempt at flirting.
Ten years on, Justin and Hailey will become man and wife for the second time on Monday, marrying at the Montage Palmetto Bluff hotel in South Carolina in what is sure to be a star-studded event.
Seven years after they first met and after around a year of hanging around in the same social circles, they began seeing each other in 2016, non-exclusively. Bieber had brief relationships with Lionel Richie's daughter Sofia Richie and with his ex Selena Gomez before he and Hailey became an official couple in June 2018.
A month later they were engaged and in September last year they were married privately in a New York City courthouse.
Hailey celebrated her hen's on Wednesday night with guests including Kendall Jenner.
Justin, meanwhile, jokily posted an assortment of tacky wedding suit options on Instagram ahead of the big day.
It is reported that guests at the Montage Palmetto Bluff were angered when informed that certain areas of the hotel would be off limits and reserved for the Bieber nuptials. Guests have been offered a refund or rebooking for the inconvenience.
