Julia Roberts earned US$3 million (NZ$4.2m) for four days of work.
According to Variety, the 48-year-old actress was reportedly paid US$750,000 a day for her role in Mother's Day, which earned just US$8.3 million on opening weekend.
Mother's Day was directed by Julia's frequent collaborator Garry Marshall and also stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis and Kate Hudson.
Roberts was previously paid a record US$20 million for her Oscar winning role in Erin Brockovich.
