Peter Andre and glamour model Jordan have been granted a divorce by the High Court in London, bringing to an end their three-and-a-half-year marriage.
The marriage was declared over during a hearing which lasted a little more than one minute.
Neither the Australian pop star nor the former glamour model-turned-entrepreneur were present when a judge granted them decrees nisi - the first stage of the divorce proceedings - on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour.
In an unusual move, both Andre and Jordan - whose real name is Katie Price - had filed papers suing the other for divorce, suggesting they blamed each other for the failure of their marriage.
British tabloid newspapers reported that Andre was believed to have filed his legal papers first, with Price following suit.
Despite mounting a war of words against each other in the British media since splitting in May, the couple is believed to have reached a financial settlement and agreed to joint custody of their children, Junior, four, and Princess, two.
Price also has another seven-year-old son, Harvey, from a previous relationship.
"It has been a hostile past few weeks but finally there is light at the end of the tunnel," a source told the Daily Mirror.
"Peter and Katie are desperate not to delay proceedings. The divorce is not about money so there'll be no wrangles."
The newspaper said Andre was expected to be awarded STG6 million ($NZ14.4 million), half of the estimated STG12 million the couple earned during the marriage.
The couple now has six weeks before a decree absolute can be granted to dissolve the marriage.
The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in September 2005, about a year after meeting while contestants on British reality TV show I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here, which is filmed in Australia.
Andre has previously said that recent pictures of Price with her new cage-fighter lover Alex Reid and on drunken nights with other men had ruled out any chance of them getting back together.
