Johnny Depp returns to Australia for troubled Pirates 5

Johnny Depp is back in Australia, posing for pictures with fans dressed in his Jack Sparrow garb.

Fans flocked to Raby Bay, around 40km east of Brisbane, after spotting the ship from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Depp has posed for selfies with fans, who posted their photos to Instagram on Tuesday.

"Just a casual selfie with the most humble and kind man that is Johnny Depp #piratesofthecarribean#rabybay#johnnydepp#bestday#love#arr#pirate," @ashleigh-vasta instagrammed, posting a picture of two girls smiling at the camera with Depp, who looks to be doing his best Blue Steel look.

Another post shows Depp bending down chatting with young children.

"Met #JackSparrow today! So stoked! #Johnny Depp #PiratesOfTheCarribean #BlackPearl #Brisbane #Cleveland #Redlands," @hayleyjadelewis said on Instagram.

Depp jetted to the US last week for his daughter Lily-Rose's 16th birthday.

He landed in hot water after failing to declare his Yorkshire terriers to customs when they arrived on a private jet.

The pooches, Boo and Pistol, were deported last month.Filming for the fifth film in the franchise started in February but it is well behind schedule.

On top of script issues and Tropical Cyclone Nathan previously hampering the production, a hand injury to Depp in March stopped filming for a further month.
