She sold two million copies of her debut album with a bewitching collection of electro-pop hits like Royals, Team and Glory and Gore.
But Lorde's second album is going to "try new things," says producer Joel Little.
Little, who produced all of Lorde's debut album Pure Heroine, told Billboard the pair had "written a couple of songs" for the Kiwi pop star's new record already.
"We haven't done a whole lot of production on it yet, we just want to make sure the songs are really good and try and experiment with some new things - just different beats and whatever occurs in the studio," he said.
